High Court Order on Institute extended (September 2010)

In July and August 2010, working on a voluntary basis, local Arts and Heritage consultant Crystal Johnson developed a draft business plan for the future of the Literary and Scientific Institute.  In September 2010 Crystal and former town council leader Charles Wild appeared at a further High Court hearing before Master Bragge and, on presentation of the draft business plan, were successful in winning an extension of 18 months to enable the BADT to submit a bid to the Heritage Lottery for the capital costs of restoring the building.and give the Trust more time to put itself in a position to take on the Institute.
